Adult Psychology Services - Understanding and Overcoming.

Solutions that bring about change begin with understanding why a difficulty exists.

Many adults face difficulties that feel overwhelming at times, whether due to stress, anxiety, life transitions, or other mental health concerns.

At times, past traumas may reemerge, impacting our daily lives. We provide a supportive space where your concerns are acknowledged and where you can start to regain control and clarity.

Personalised Assessments

Our first step is to understand the challenges you are facing. This begins with a comprehensive assessment, where we explore various aspects of your life, your life story, your mental health and what has helped and not helped in the past.

Our goal during the assessment is not just to identify the problems, but also to understand your strengths, resources, and goals. This holistic view helps us tailor a therapy plan that aligns with your personal needs and aspirations.

This assessment phase may just take one session or it may require a longer more detailed investigation for us to gain an understanding of how we may help you.

What happens next? What’s the Therapeutic Approach?

Following the assessment, we will develop a tailored therapy plan that may include individual counselling or other suitable interventions. Our therapy sessions are crafted to allow you to safely explore your thoughts and emotions in a confidential setting.

We employ a variety of therapeutic techniques, psychotherapy (talk therapy), behavioural therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR (for Trauma) and other evidence-based approaches, depending on what suits you best.

Our Approach to Therapy

  • Ongoing Support & Development

Therapy is a personal journey that can be brief and solution-oriented or extend over a longer period, tailored to the complexity of the issues and their impact on your life and relationships.

Goals are continually reviewed to ensure that the work is beneficial.

Our sessions are aimed at helping you develop the skills you need to manage your difficulties and to deepen resilience.

Therapy can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, improve your relationships, and enhance your overall well-being.

We are committed to safeguarding your wellbeing. Our aim is that the insights gained through our work with you will enable you to know how to manage problems more effectively and to also recognise if extra support is needed and where it will come from in your life.

Fully grasping the complexities of your situation can be challenging. Each individual’s circumstances are unique, making it essential to approach understanding with patience and openness.

Remember, asking questions is not just helpful—it’s crucial. It enables clearer insight into your experiences and fosters a deeper understanding, ensuring that the support you receive is as effective as possible.
